Welcome to Wittersham Church of England Primary School. It is always difficult deciding which school is right for your child and we hope that viewing our website will help you make that decision.

We are a village school, situatedOur Bag2School class Champions. The school raised a total of 640.5kg for the Bag2School charity mid way between Tenterden and Rye on the B2082, in a quiet location, close to the church and with extensive rural views. Children come to us from the villages of Wittersham, Stone-in-Oxney and Appledore, and the surrounding rural area, including East Sussex. We have 4 classes, these being, Windmill (Reception), Smugglers (Years 1 & 2), Viking (Years 3 & 4) and Rother (Years 5 & 6). Children are taught in small groups with every child treated as an individual. Expectations for learning and behaviour are high and the majority of our pupils go on to either Homewood in Tenterden or Highworth Grammar School for Girls and Norton Knatchbull Grammar School for Boys in Ashford.

As a church school there are close connections with the church and a strong Christian ethos. The Anglican School’s Inspection Report graded our distinctive Christian character as “Outstanding”,   “a happy school, rooted in Christian values which are reflected in the classroom rules and the excellent relationships among adults and pupils.”

“Wittersham CEP School is a Safeguarding Environment.  We are committed to encouraging equality and diversity across all aspects of school life".

Prospective parents are always welcome to come and have a look around. Please phone the office if you would like to get a flavour of Wittersham School and the learning opportunities we provide.
