Our Christian Values
At Wittersham Church of England Primary School, we believe that the teachings of Jesus Christ are not just words in a book but a guiding light for our students and our community. That's why we've chosen the story of the Road to Emmaus as our central Bible story. This powerful narrative from the Bible exemplifies our commitment to journeying together with the support of Jesus and embracing our core values of compassion, courage, and cooperation.
Compassion: Compassion is at the heart of our school values. The disciples on the road to Emmaus show compassion when they invite the stranger to stay with them. It's a lesson for us that we, too, should show kindness and empathy to those we encounter on our journey, both inside and outside our school.
Courage: The disciples had the courage to recognise Jesus, even in their moments of doubt and confusion. Likewise, we encourage our students to be brave in facing challenges and to have the courage to stand up for what is right.
Cooperation: The disciples' cooperation in sharing a meal with the stranger led to a profound revelation. We believe that cooperation, working together as a team, is vital for our school's success. By collaborating with one another, we can accomplish great things in the light of God.
